What a relationship map reveals

A character linked to everyone else is often the heart of the plot; an isolated character is either a deliberate mystery or one who hasn't found their place yet. Hostile and romantic relationships create the most conflict: check that your protagonist has at least one.

Relationships change

The map shows one moment. In a novel, alliances become rivalries and rivalries become romances. Draw one map for the beginning and one for the end: the difference between them is your story's relationship arc.

Common questions

How many characters can the map show?
Up to 16. Beyond that a map gets hard to read: make one per family, faction or plot line.
How can I reuse the map?
Download it as SVG: the file opens in a browser, prints, and can be inserted into most note-taking and word-processing apps.

And for the whole novel's consistency?

SagaScope builds your story bible from your text and alerts you when a detail contradicts itself. Join the waitlist.
