WriteControl organizes your book. SagaScope remembers your world.
Your character sheets are up to date in chapter 3. By chapter 40, who keeps them current?
Two tools for writing a novel
WriteControl is an online writing platform widely used by French-speaking authors, linked to BoD for printing. It covers the whole journey of a book: an editor with autosave and offline mode, chapters with summaries and a tile view, character sheets to fill in, writing statistics and goals, a spell checker and repetition detector, mind maps, layout, export, and printing from a single copy. It also offers AI tools for inspiration and finding the right word.
SagaScope doesn't try to redo all of that. It focuses on what gets hard as a novel grows: remembering who is who, who knows what, who is where and when. Instead of sheets to fill in, the bible builds itself from your text; the relationship graph and timeline follow the story scene by scene, and an alert quotes the passage when a detail contradicts what was established.
For a short first novel, or if you want to proofread, lay out and print in one place, WriteControl is an excellent choice. For a saga with a large cast, over several books, where consistency becomes the real problem, SagaScope adds the missing layer.
Two approaches
WriteControl: the whole book journey
- Online editor, usable offline
- Chapters, summaries and a tile view
- Interactive character sheets to fill in
- Spell checker, repetition detector (Premium)
- Layout, export and print on demand
SagaScope: your world's memory
- Bible built from the manuscript, no sheets to fill in
- Relationship graph and timeline, scene by scene
- Inconsistency alerts that quote the passage
- Saga assistant that answers questions about your world
- Simulated reader committee for your revisions
Feature by feature
WriteControl wins on proofreading, layout, printing and offline use. SagaScope wins on story memory and consistency.

Which one should you choose?
Choose WriteControl if…
- you want to write, proofread, lay out and print in one place
- you're looking for a free version to get started
- you often write without a connection
- your novel stays manageable without a consistency tool
Choose SagaScope if…
- your character sheets no longer keep up with your manuscript
- you write a saga, several books or several points of view
- you want to see relationships and the timeline without drawing them
- you want an alert when a detail contradicts the story
Using both
The two tools complement each other: write, proofread and prepare printing in WriteControl, and import your manuscript into SagaScope (DOCX, EPUB, PDF or text) to check your world's consistency at each major revision.
Common questions
- What's the difference between WriteControl and SagaScope?
- WriteControl is a complete writing platform: editor, chapters, character sheets to fill in, proofreading, statistics, layout and printing. SagaScope focuses on the story's memory: the bible builds itself from your text, the relationship graph and timeline follow the story, and alerts flag inconsistencies.
- Does SagaScope replace WriteControl?
- Not necessarily. If you rely on WriteControl for proofreading, layout or printing, keep it. SagaScope adds what it doesn't do: a story bible kept up to date automatically and consistency checks across a long novel or a series.
- Can I import a manuscript written in WriteControl?
- Yes. Export your manuscript (as a Word file, for example), then import it into SagaScope, or paste your text. SagaScope detects chapters and scenes, then builds the bible and the graph.
- Does SagaScope write text for me?
- No. SagaScope does not draft chapters or scenes. It reads what you write to build your story bible, check consistency and give feedback. The Workshop suggests edits on a passage you select, and you decide on each one.
- Where is my data hosted, and is it used to train AI?
- SagaScope is hosted in the European Union (Paris) and subject to the GDPR. Our AI providers are configured not to train their models on your writing, and you remain the sole owner of your manuscript.
Your world deserves a memory.
